If the idea is at the heart of everything, then I would like you to think of a movie that you love. Then look at its current title sequence and come up with a new one. Sketch up the rough idea in the form of a storyboard. Your storyboard needs to be at 30 frames and should be for at least 1minute of motion design. Movie of choice: Inglorious Basterds
My favourite filmmaker is Quentin Tarantino, I love the way his movies look and especially his music choices. I recently watched Inglorious Basterds, one of my favourite movies. This title sequence is simple titles fades on and of on black screen, to a soundtrack filled with tension and magnitude. The movie’s title is written in a simple handwriting, contrasting to the other titles in big western like font. At first I thought it was strange and the movie title gives more big movie font than a flimsy handwriting, but then it would just blend in with the rest.
My problem with this title sequence, and in general, I bad at connecting faces and names. So a shot/clip of the actors would help me. Reviewing my storyboard I see this would take way too long and maybe combining the name with the clip would work better. Also all the squares should have a black background.
